"Not much we're able to do about it at this point no matter where we are," he says with a faint smile. Of course they're going to have regrets, it's inevitable after such a traumatic experience, but Marcus has been doing it for a very long time and he still feels as if he ought to have known better or tried harder or seen something the others couldn't have possibly seen. He'll blame himself for Gabriel until the day he dies, just as he'll blame himself for Angela and Kat being injured.

He can't take it back, but he can carry the guilt.
